Pulled from the SpeedGauge data vault, this map shows average interstate truck speeds by state, in free flow conditions, and provides some interesting insight for route planning and understanding driver behavior in different areas. For example, we can see how the differentiated Car/Truck speed limits in California, Oregon and Washington affect average truck speeds in those states compared to areas with higher limits.

We extracted this data from hundreds of thousands of fleet vehicles using the SpeedGauge Safety Center, so our results may be slower than the true average, because SpeedGauge fleets invest in safety as a top priority making their drivers less likely to speed.

We can pull lots of data together for a variety of insights around safety, speeding, and the impact of training and speed monitoring. Let us know what you’d like to see next!
